Overwrite issue within same job on USB Flash Drive

I have USB Flash/Thumb drives for a 5-day rotation. The devices are initialised as Disk Cartridges with Media type: FLDR. They are automatically put into the media set "Backup Exec and Winodws NT Backup Media" with "Infinite - Do not overwrite" protection. They CANNOT be moved from this group - apparently this is by design in Backup Exec 2012 SP2. The Maximum file size to be just under the formatted size of the USB thumb drives. The USB thumb drives are in a storage pool called "USB Disk Pool".

I have set up a job with a recurrence each week day. Storage is the "USB Disk Pool" with a custom media set. "Eject the media after the job completes" is enabled.

If I don't set the global Configuration and Settings, Backup Exec Settings, Storage, Media overwrite protection level to NONE (don't prompt), the jobs won't write to the USB drive without first prompting (which is obvious useless in an automated backup).

These settings work with a single backup set within a backup job. However, if I wish to backup multiple drives it automatically overwrites the previous task (within the same backup job step) which is very strange behaviour. I can't think of a scenario where this would actually be useful...

So, if I wish to backup say folders on Drive E it works. But if I want to backup folders on Drive E and G and System State, the backup set for G overwrites the backup set for E which has just completed (within the same backup step).

How do I backup multiple locations (on the same server) without 1 overwriting another within the same job?
