The setup:
• Customer running 10.0.3 CH2
• 'Delete original item after archiving' is NOT checked
• 'Create shortcut to archived item after archiving' is NOT checked
• 'Remove safety copies' is set to 'After backup'
• Zero-day archiving policy in my lab to reproduce
Steps to reproduce the 'issue':
1. Send email to an archive-enabled user (or to yourself)
2. Add the created date to Outlook using the field chooser, and note the date and time
3. Wait 2 minutes
4. Perform a run-now of the archiving task against the mailboxes you sent the message to
Observations:
1. The original (according to the date/time) Message Class has been changed to IPM.Note.EnterpriseVault.PendingArchive
2. A new (according to the date/dime) IPM.Note duplicate of the archived item will show up in the mailbox
3. Cycling the backup process, the original item (according to the date/dime) is deleted, even though EV configuration is set to not delete the original item
The impacts:
• Anyone that has their Outlook to include created date will see the date of the archive action instead of the date of the original item
• When the archived item is moved to another folder, it will be fully archived again, thus having duplicates in the archive
Reuest
To have EV not make a copy of the orginal item. Have EV use or delete the ORIGINAL item.
