My organization had been using ghost to image PCs, and some issues arose this past summer with a set of new Dell Vostros being unable to boot from the USB drives we had used to boot previous machines to capture and deploy images. We were hoping to update to a newer version of ghost to accomplish this and I was told that ghost is going away, but they have replaced it with another product, Symantec System Recovery because they could not get Ghost to work with Windows 8 so they had to create another product that would. I was also told that it will lso image Windows 7 as well.
I have downloaded the free trial of Symantec System Recovery, but have not yet tried it. Are there any people in a similar situation that have found success using SSR in this capacity? Would anyone recommend another product or tool to replace ghost instead?
