Hello EV World,
I have an interesting one here and trying to see what option might be the best. We had a Windows file server migrating to a new filer so obviously backup and restore was not an option so we migrated the placeholders and after that the server team robocopied the remaining data but something went wrong with the non-archived data and the robocopy and it appears to have duplicated the data on the new filer so... We need to figure out the best way to keep the PHs intact and remove the unwanted data on the new filer. I am thinking we could just migrate the data back to the original server wipe everything off the new filer then try again later but I was not sure if there are any gotchas with multiple migrations for the same PHs and I would much rather just get the messed up data off the new filer and have the non-archived data migration tried again. I am not sure if anyone might know of an option in robocopy that would delete anything that is not offline, then the PHs would remain and they could remigrate the non-archived data? Or if there was a way to backup the new filer and restore only the items that are not offline, which would also leave the PHs alone, but I am not sure if NBU has that capability? If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks,
Travis
