SD 7.5: Automation Rules with Email Monitoring

We are monitoring a mailbox that we used to monitor in 7.1 and I imagine it will work the same way. The question I have has to do with how we used to route inicidents from the email monitor in 7.1 vs. how we can do it now. In 7.1 we used to route incidents by certain keywords in the subject line. We modified one of the workflows to assign incidents based on a Text Contains component. In 7.5, do we still have to move and assign incidents this way or can we use automation rules? I was thinking perhaps an OnIncidentReceived rule and say if Incident Title contains but has anyone had luck with this? I am comfortable doing it either way just wondering what others might do.
